Our piercers are Alex Levine and Amanda Daugherty.
Alex Levine started his piercing career in 1997 with a full local apprenticeship and took a course at the Exotic Body in Sacramento, CA. There, Alex was taught the importance of continuing education in the body piercing field. Hes participated in the Association of Professional Piercers convention, and formed a large network of resources to stay up-to-date on jewelry designs and styles, after-care and different piercing techniques. In addition to this, he has worked with many reputable people and studios in his career that have helped him to stay current in the rapidly evolving field of body piercing in Austin, Chicago, and here in the Twin Cities.
Amanda Daugherty, nee Clausen, has been professionally piercing for four years, beginning with her hands-on apprenticeship in January of 2007, and joined the Steady staff (then Axis) in 2008. She has participated in the annual Association of Professional Piercers conference every year since 2007, and keeps herself up-to-date on techniques, jewelry, aftercare, tools, and trends through study, research, and self-teaching. Amanda is currently certified in Adult CPR and First Aid Basics through the American Red Cross, as well as the Blood-borne Pathogens course taught by the APP.
